John Onwuchekwa, Founder/Executive Director

John Onwuchekwa is the Lead Teaching Pastor for Blueprint Church in Atlanta, GA. He and his wife Shawndra have been married for 5 years.  John is currently working on a Doctorate of Education (EdD.) from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

John is very passionate about teaching and education.  During all of his years spent in school, John concluded this: it does not take much to “do well.”  In his experience with traditional educational systems, a student who is good at playing the academic game will succeed.  It is not primarily about learning; it is about skill.  Therefore, after receiving his Masters in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary, John has reentered the “traditional” route for learning (as he would call it), so that other people don’t have to.  The education he wants is not available in a package that considers his lifestyle and demographic.  Thus, John repackages what he learns and delivers it in a format customized to the needs of his audience.  This is the heartbeat of The Imprint Institute.

Born out of his desire to offer the solid “meat” of Scripture and Christian living to laymen, The Imprint Institute is the first step to doing so in an environment that is flexible, interactive, communal and tailored to their lives and lifestyle.  John dreams about a movement towards providing a personalized theological education for all believers based on their geographical context and learning style.  His vision is to create more and varied options for getting quality theological instruction.

John is excited to see students involved with Imprint experience the “aha” moments and spiritual growth that come with spending time seeking the Lord amongst brothers and sisters.
